I am Ingrid May L. Maglajos, female, 23 years old, single, currently residing at Bohol, Philippines. I am the eldest daughter of a family of five. My father is Gil B. Maglajos, a Grade One Elementary Teacher. My mother is Evelyn Lusica-Maglajos, a Grade Four Elementary Teacher too. My siblings are Shane Dianne Mae Maglajos, 19 years old and is now studying Bachelor of Science in Criminology at a known University in Bohol, and Justine Dwight Maglajos, a senior high school student.

I have a nuclear family but I love to get along with my extended family. I have plenty of cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts. My mother has ten siblings and all of them struggled to be able to succeed in the future. My father has six siblings, three of them were dead, they barely bond together because of distant residency. During weekends I always make sure to spend time with my grandparents, running some errands, cooking dishes, feeding pets such as cats and dogs, and doing physical activities. I also love to babysit my younger cousins whenever I have free time. Changing diapers, spoon feeding meals, taking a shower, combing hair and cutting nails, are the usual things I did when baby sitting.

I took my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a four-year course, at Holy Name University. I graduated on March 2018. I took Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination on 6th of June the same year and passed at first take

I had my first job on August 2018 as a Probationary Nurse at Ramiro Community Hospital for about four months. I was able to nurse pediatric and geriatric patients at the extent of care. On February 2019, I moved to Panabo Polymedic Hospital in Davao del Norte to work in General Ward for 13 months and in Operating Room/Delivery Room/ NICU Complex for 18months. I rendered care to adults, newborns and mostly children of ages three to eighteen years young. I managed to establish rapport day by day, gave medications, indulged in different beliefs and culture, provided palliative care to terminally ill patients, thus, providing quality holistic care to patients under my service. On the track of my life being a nurse, believe me it wasn’t easy at all. There were times I sympathize and I desperately want them to be healed as soon as possible without experiencing pain. My personal life changed. My thoughts and points of view were influenced by the patient’s life. On the other hand, I felt overwhelmed and happy every time I get a simple “Thank You” from patients. That ineffable feeling is very satisfying, that they are appreciative of my care. At present, I am an Operating Room Nurse at ACE Medical Center-Bohol since November last year.

Outside my career life I also have interest in photography. I love to capture moments and keep it as memories in a film. My favorite flower is Sunflower and my comfort place is at the Beach. Whenever I am aloof, lonely, or in dilemma, music and the beach calms my mind. It gives me peace of mind and clarity. It refuels my dying soul. I am also a sunset lover. It always gives me chills whenever I get to see it. It reminds me that a horrific day can end a beautifully. Travelling is one of the things that excites me too. To become acquainted with new friends and new environment is a plus one. I am a little introvert and having a friendly harmonious relationship towards others is my way of killing it. It adds up my confidence to show in public.

Canada is one of the best country to live. As per my research, it is the safest country in the world. I barely speak English because my first language is Cebuano Bisaya. This is my best chance to improve my English and to learn more languages especially French. Canada is very new to me and I am more than willing to interact with its people sharing various religions, beliefs, and culture.

I am ecstatically thrilled to have this opportunity presented to me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
