My name is Jessica, I am thirty two years old, I was born in 1989. I am from the Philippines and I took Personal Support Worker Training in PinoyWish Training Center in Manila. My family has 5 members, my mother is working as a Marketing Officer and my father is a retired employee. I have 2 siblings, Louie is the oldest, he is 35 yrs old and the youngest is Angel, she is 29 yrs.old.

My father’s family is big, he has four sisters and a brother. His father passed away when he was little so his mother was married the second time around. I have plenty of nieces and nephews on my father’s side. On my mother’s side has only 5 family members, she has 2 brothers. My mother is the eldest so my cousins are younger than me.

My mother’s parents are living with us. They are very close to me, they are the ones who took care of us when we were kids since my parents were both working overseas. My grandfather is 86 years old and my grandmother is 79 years old. I enjoy guiding them whenever they walk because I knew that they guided me during my first steps.

I love chatting with elderlies, I am learning new things from them. I learned about their lives before technology, how they dress, how they communicate, their past times and the way of living. Especially when my grandpa used to tell stories about his childhood. I am really enjoying listening to him. My grandparents use their dialect, which is Ilocano for communication, I learned how to speak it from listening to them everyday.

Taking care of little children is one of my favorite things to do. I used to take care of my cousins when they were kids. I am very excited to return home from school or work because I know there are kids at home. They are my stress relievers, I used to hug and kiss them to let my stress go away. My brother is expecting a child this year and I couldn’t be happier about it.

I have gained experience with children by taking care of my little cousins, nephews and nieces and volunteering at an orphanage institute here in the Philippines. Playing with them is one of my favorite things to do.

I want to learn more about Canada, the place, its people and their culture. I heard so many nice things about your country, It would be a great privilege to experience it. I love spending time with children, we are both learning from each other. My family, relatives and friends describe me as a responsible person who loves to be with kids.

I hope I can develop my skills that I have learned from my previous training center. My family supports my big decision and they are very proud of me. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
