My name is William, I am forty-seven years old, I was born on 1975. I am from Philippines and I studied caregiving at ISCC Learning and Review Center, Inc. For me, it was one of the most important decisions in my life. My family is small. We have five members, my mother is a public school teacher and my father is a seaman. My parents have three children: me, the eldest child in the family, my two younger sisters Wilhelmina (45) and Concepcion (43) years old.

I have two nephews and two nieces. My family is very closed. We have the custom of celebrating family birthdays. My mother-in-law cooks the favorite dish of the birthday celebrant. We sang “Happy Birthday” then we get together. We play games, tell stories among others.

My mother has one sister and one brother, and my father has several brothers and sisters, so I have many uncles, aunts and little cousins.

I love children, I think they are the most beautiful beings in the world, they are able to encourage anyone with their innocence and enthusiasm, they always make you smile and make you feel to have an inner peace.

I enjoy working with children, taking care of them. Therefore, you can feel trustworthy that I can be someone you can count on to. To be there when their family needs me. I like to be always flexible with schedules, since one never knows what can happen especially when an unexpected event occur.

I speak English. I could say that I have intermediate English. My native language is Filipino. I love English, and want to learn French too. I already got better in English now. I want to do the same having basic knowledge of French. These two languages are my favorites. I think these two are beautiful languages.

My favorite color is blue, my favorite food is chicken and the pizza, I love animals especially dogs. I like listening to good music, watching comedy films and visiting different places. In my free time I like to go for a walk, eat or watch movies with my friends. I like to travel meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences.

I have gained my experience which began when caring with my own children. Mostly through babysitting and helping with their training. My first experience in caring children was from one year to seven years old. I used to wake the children up, have breakfast with them, help do with their homework, and play with them. The experience was great. Sometimes, if the kids did not want to sleep, we make popcorn and watch movies for a short time and then put them to bed. I had to prepare their bottles, feed them. Help them to develop the appropriate skills, like turns, tummy time, entertaining them with toys or helping them to sleep. Then when they grew up we started playing outdoors. I made play dough figures and later they tried to make some on their own. I also made their breakfast, dressed them up, make lunch, put them down to sleep. I taught them to say please and thank you, when they wanted something.

My last experience was my duty in our rural health center in our hometown. I took assists in Covid 19 vaccinations. My duties covered services to both senior citizens and teenagers. My experiences were unforgettable. That is why I want to live these experiences again in a new culture like yours.

I would also love to know the Canadian way of life. My desire to know more about your country and its culture. My family and my friends say that I am a very fatherly, responsible and loving person. In addition, I love children, so this year I decided to fulfill my next dream and what a better way than doing what I love in a different country! I love spending time with children learning everything they can teach me every day. They learn a lot of us, but we learn more from them than we think. For me, it is wonderful to see them grow up with us and learn, little by little, to be more independent. Furthermore, my family support my decision and they are very happy for me.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to improve my English and French. I know I can achieve this goal in your country. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
